The amazing work of Jean-Cristophe Boullion evaporated in the third hour when the no. 16 Pescarolo was struck down with gearbox trouble, dropping them well out of contention and handing the lead to the Oreca-AIM of Lapierre and Panis.
The incident effectively seals the title for the 007 Aston Martin team who are currently running in second place, ahead of the Speedy Racing AMR Lola and the 009 Aston Martin.
Speedy Racing’s LMP2 Lola Judd holds a comfortable class lead ahead of the no. 45 Team WFR Zytek, who in turn are under pressure from the no. 25 RML Lola. In GT1, the Gigawave Aston Martin has taken control from Larbre Competition
A very tight battle is developing in GT2, with Pilet and Narac leading in the IMSA Matmut Porsche by just 5 seconds from chamionship outsiders, JMW Motorsport. With the title leaders, the no. 77 Felbermayr-Proton Porsche, running in 10th place, an upset could be on the cards.
